CAD ROOMS Pricing FAQs

Question 1

How much does CAD ROOMS cost?

Accepted Answer

CAD ROOMS starts at $60 (€52) per editor per month on the Team plan when billed annually, or $75 (€65) monthly. The Business plan starts at $120 (€104) per editor per month when billed annually, or $150 monthly. Enterprise pricing is custom and includes SSO, on-premise or regional hosting, and custom integrations. Viewers are free and unlimited on every plan.

Question 2

Is there a free trial?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial with full access to version control, the browser CAD viewer, and collaboration features. You will not be charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel anytime before then. Startups and R&D teams may also qualify for up to 90% off through our startup program.

Question 3

What's the difference between the Team and Business plans?

Accepted Answer

Team covers the essentials for 1 to 5 editors: CAD version control with check-in and check-out, the browser viewer, annotations, and manual release. Business is built for teams of 5 or more that need formal change management, including ECO workflows with approvals, visual CAD diffing, advanced permissions, audit logs, priority support, and a dedicated account manager.

Question 4

Do I have to pay for view-only users?

Accepted Answer

No. Viewers are free and unlimited on every CAD ROOMS plan. Colleagues, executives, suppliers, and clients can open 3D models in the browser, take measurements, and leave comments without a paid seat, a CAD license, or software installation. You only pay for editors who create and manage files.

Question 5

Am I locked into a contract?

Accepted Answer

No. CAD ROOMS is available monthly or annually, and you can cancel anytime. Annual billing saves you 20%. There are no servers to buy and no implementation contracts, and your CAD files remain yours and can be exported at any time.

Question 6

Is my CAD data secure in the cloud?

Accepted Answer

Yes. CAD ROOMS is ISO 27001 certified and GDPR compliant, with AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS 1.2 or higher in transit, role-based permissions, and automated audit logging. Data is hosted on AWS in the EU, with regional hosting, on-premise deployment, and SAML SSO available on the Enterprise plan.

Question 7

How much storage do I get, and what happens when we grow?

Accepted Answer

The Team plan includes 100 GB per editor, and Business includes 1 TB of private storage, with unlimited version history. As your team grows, storage scales with your seats, and Enterprise plans support custom capacity, regional hosting, or your own storage bucket.

Question 8

How quickly can we migrate from our current PDM system to CAD ROOMS?

Accepted Answer

Most teams are live in 1 to 3 days. Because CAD ROOMS is cloud-native, there are no servers, VPNs, or lengthy IT projects. You create a workspace, sync your files, and invite your team. CAD ROOMS supports migrations from SolidWorks PDM, Teamcenter, Windchill, and shared drives, with onboarding assistance on Business and Enterprise plans.

Question 9

Does CAD ROOMS work with SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA, and other CAD tools?

Accepted Answer

Yes. CAD ROOMS is multi-CAD by design and works alongside SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA, Creo, NX, Solid Edge, AutoCAD, Rhino, and more, supporting 35 or more file formats including STEP, IGES, and STL. You keep designing in your existing CAD tools while CAD ROOMS manages versions, reviews, and releases.

Question 10

Is CAD ROOMS for startups or large enterprises?

Accepted Answer

Both. Hardware startups and R&D teams can use the Team plan and may qualify for up to 90% off through the startup program. Enterprises in aerospace, medical devices, and robotics can use CAD ROOMS with SSO, audit logs, on-premise or regional hosting, and Enterprise support.
